Teenage Language

Exercise A: Do you use different language when you talk to your friends and when you talk to your parents / teachers? What's the difference? What is the teenager's problem in the cartoon below?


Exercise B: Have a look at the sentences in "2 Teenage language" on p. 81.

Exercise C: Make a list of informal expressions that you use in German.

How would you explain these words to an English-speaking teenager?
  • krass: extreme, very good or very bad
  • assig: you use this expression to say that sb. doesn't care for others or behave in an anit-social way
